Tax Collections
The Tax Collections Department is responsible for the collection of taxes on motor vehicles, personal property, and real estate. They also assist in answering tax and billing related questions for the residents of Hoke County.

New Deed Registration Requirements

Effective August 1, 2014 Hoke County requires the Register of Deeds of Hoke County not to accept any deed transferring real property unless the Tax Collector has certified that no delinquent taxes are due. Deeds must be brought to the tax office to obtain the required stamps and signatures.

2014 Tax Bill Information

Hoke County 2014 tax bills are billed during the month of July 2014. If you receive a tax bill and you make payments to your mortgage company, please note that the bill statement received is for informational purposes only. Most mortgage companies now engage in electronic data submission and resubmission of county tax bills. Taxes are due September 1, 2014, and can be paid up until January 5, 2015 without any interest added to the current tax bill. Interest starts January 6, 2015. Payments received by Aug 31, 2014, receive a 2% discount.

DID YOU KNOW?
To ensure that taxes are paid by the January 5, 2015 deadline, taxpayers may start making payments now. Taxpayers may make partial payment of any amount; however, to avoid late penalties, the full amount due must be paid by January 5, 2015. If paying by mail, please remember to include account information in the memo section of the check.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Tax Collections Department at 910-875-8751.
