In an effort to provide a
comprehensive and cost-effective program of solid waste
management, Hoke County makes available to its residents several
options. The first is a Transfer Station located at 700 CC
Steel Road. This facility is the final collection point for all
waste generated within the county and where that waste is
prepared for transfer to the disposal site. The Transfer
Station is also where any waste stream not covered by the
availability fee must be delivered and assessed the appropriate
charge for disposal.
The current Tipping Fees are:
-
$50.75 per/ton for all
municipal solid waste
-
$19.00 per/ton for all yard
waste
-
$19.00 per/ton for Inert
debris (rocks, bricks, concrete, asphalt, etc...)
Transfer Station hours of
operation are:
Monday through Friday: 8:00
A.M. - 4:30 P.M.
Saturday: 9:00 A.M. - 3:00
P.M. (Yard debris, white goods, and scrap metal ONLY
during these hours)
For those habitable households
that are assessed the annual availability we provide five (5)
convenience sites that are located in strategic areas throughout
the county. These sites are only to be utilized by those who
display a valid solid waste sticker issued by the county. No
waste generated by a business or commercial entity is allowed at
the convenience sites. Only "LIMITED QUANTITIES OF HOUSEHOLD
GARBAGE" will be accepted at these sites and attendants are
available to assist customers and to answer questions. Any
waste or quantity of waste not accepted at the sites must be
delivered to the Transfer Station and assessed the appropriate
fee for disposal. Listed below are the names, locations, and
